With the convention season starting I figured I should start putting together outfits, and even back up outfits in case certain things in the mail don't arrive, like specific tights T_T

But anyways....I decided to base this outfit off of an apron my friend made me a little while ago~! I finally had all the other pieces I needed to make the outfit complete!

What kinds of outfits are you putting together for upcoming conventions?

Creating a coord.

Hi Everybody~!

I know it's been too long since I've posted...but I'm finally done

with my master's and finally have time~!!!!!!

As the post title can tell you, this entry will be about creating that

perfect coordinate!

(I know I've talked about colors in outfits before in an older post)

Given that it's almost Convention season, and I've yet to pull

my newest lolita outfits together, this is perfect timing.

So you want to try coordinating a lolita outfit for that summer convention,

well do you have the necessary components? Not sure?

Here are some easy things to think about when

putting together an outfit.

1) The key piece

This can be a jsk/op/sk or anything thing else that you want to be the focal

point of your outfit.

An example would be playing off of Angelic Pretty's

triple tart jsk in lavender:

This jsk can easily be paired with simple colors, but

I love to push the envelope:

I love to pick up on colors that can pop, such as the

royal blue blueberries~!

2: Secondary items: blouse, shoes, purse etc.

So you've picked a focal point~jsk

now with the key color blue:

Chiffon royal blue blouse (the one I found is long sleeve from the thrift store)

and royal blue tea party shoes.

Now for the finishing touches:

3. Legs and head

I personally do not like how my legs look, so I will go for short 

socks, red, with white polka dot tights.

As for the hair: a cute curly wig

with a smaller white hat decorated with strawberries, blueberries and

a couple leaves. :) 

I hope this example (which will be worn to a convention soon) gives you

some idea for putting together your next outfit~!

Vampire in Winter

I recently did a photoshoot involving more of an aristocratic

type vampire (black and red colors)

I think the pictures came out pretty cool and now I want to do more gothic lolita

outfits~!

Closet Cleaning~!

So I've gone through my lolita closet once again and found 

more that has to go (to make room for new things)

I'll add pictures later but here is a quick list:

How to make a more eye popping lolita outfit

Want to make your lolita coord. stand out?

Not sure how to match and or style to create the perfect outfit?

Here are some quick tips to get you started~!

(nothing too out there, just other ways to match)

Pick a focal point of your outfit:

A specific dress, an awesome hat, or fantastic shoes

Find a color that is in the print of the dress, or color in the hat, or shoes

(it's more fun to pick a color that is not primary, like blue details on a purple dress)

Next, make sure you balance the color throughout the outfit

For example: My sugary carnival coord. (black jsk)

involved using blue and yellow as focal points.

(To start out just try one color)

To break my outfit into one color try:

(black jsk- with blue details

blue blouse

blue bow- off set by black wig

blue shoes

black socks

blue purse)

Very simple, and adds some pop to your conventional all matching outfit~!

Another simple way is to have the hair accessory match a color in the print, 

which then you add matching shoes~!

Hunting the Auctions: Deals of the Week Idea

As we all know, sometimes the best way to get brand lolita outfits

is to stalk the japanese auction sites.

Never heard of them?

 A couple that I usually check are Mbok and Yahoo Auctions Japan.

You can get great deals, even with the low exchange rate!

I've bought many dresses through auction, and have used both Celga and

Cresent Shop.

I would have to say one of my favs that I got from an auction was

Angelic Pretty's Memorial Cake halter jsk in white for only 10,000 yen~!

I have a bad habit of stalking the auctions all the time (so many dresses so little money)

but sometimes if I find something that is an awesome deal and 

not my style (more gothic) I'll let my friend know. She looks gorgeous

in gothic lolita~!

Wondering if people would like to see a couple good deals posted every week?

Sometimes I know auctions are hard because they are over in couple

days and you kind of need at least half the money to bid, but who 

knows maybe I'll connect you to a dream dress~!

I had a pretty good time at AM2 Con, but it was really hot 

the days of the con so it was a little uncomfortable in lolita. Having 

that huge parasol helped a lot, plus it was great for pics :)

So Easter weekend I took pictures with my friend

for the Tokyo Rebel Contest, but
the photos needed to be 8 mega pixels
and her camera is only 7.1.
Bummer....

At least the pictures are still cute!
